Should I Choose a New Shutter or Blinds?
Shutters and blinds are both hard window treatments that have a lot to offer any space. They add color, texture, and provide excellent protection for your interiors. Should you choose new shutters or blinds for your Colorado home? That can be a hard question to answer because though the two treatments are both classified as hard window coverings, depending on your needs and style, they can both be effective in different areas of the home.

Where You Might Choose Shutters Over Blinds
- For Kids' Rooms: One significant difference between shutters and blinds is how they operate. While both have tilting slats that move in unison, shutters control those slats with a tilt bar, while blinds use can many different operating systems. Interior shutters may be considered more child-friendly as they aren’t as flexible as blinds, which may bend or break if used too roughly. As a result, we recommend using shutters for kids rooms.
- For French Doors: Depending on what style you choose, shutters are great on sliding or swinging doors, including patio and French doors.
